Joel Lamas, 27
Joel Lamas, a 27-year-old Latino, was shot and killed Friday, Jan. 1, in the 7600 block of Keltonview Drive in Pico Rivera, authorities said.
Lamas was shot in a front yard about 1:58 a.m., according to a Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department news release. Neighbors apparently heard the gunshots, but told detectives they sounded like firecrackers. One neighbor went outside and found Lamas lying in the front yard, authorities said.
Lamas was pronounced dead at the scene at 2:14 a.m. No other information was immediately available.
