John Konelio Tagoai, 29

John Konelio Tagoai, a 29-year-old Samoan, was shot and killed Friday, May 30, in the 100 block of Colden Avenue in Broadway-Manchester, according to police and Los Angeles County coroner’s records.

Tagoai was standing with about six other people in a driveway about 10:30 p.m. when a black man walked up and shot into the group, said Los Angeles police Det. Sal LaBarbera. The gunman then ran west on West Colden Avenue toward South Broadway, LaBarbera said.

Tagoai was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead at 11:52 p.m., said Ed Winter, a coroner’s spokesman.

No one else was injured in the shooting, LaBarbera said. Police believe that Tagoai was the intended target.

we never met.. but your son has been a huge part of my life. 5 years i’ve known that boy and man has he grown! 😂 but in some ways he hasn’t changed one bit lol. he lost you when he was going into his teen years and life has been so hard since; it amazes me how he’s still able to be this big goofy lovable person (you know what he be going through, it’s hard). and despite all the troubles and mistakes he’s made, he’s really someone amazing. i know you be looking down at us like we just two crazy kids but i promise it’s all love lol. i love your son unconditionally, and will continue to do so. he’s gonna make you proud, and so will the rest of your boys✊🏼

that is my son that you guys took away from me and his kids and wife as well as his brothers and sisters nieces nephews cousins aunties and uncles . you guys took a life that was not for you guys to take , god blessed me with my son . to care love teach him the facts about life and respect humbleness caring about other people , my son i taught him all of that , you guys took my grand kids father away from them , you guys left my grand sons scar for life and very sad , your parents do not know how it feels to loose a child they have carried for 9 months go through labor pain to bring him in this crazy world , i deal with that pain every minute , second , time , day , month , year .its not a good feeling loosing my son , you guys that took my sons life from me , god is watching you guys everyday of your lives , god sees you guys , god knows who you are as well as who took my sons life and him from me ,his kids ,wife , sisters , brothers , nieces , nephews , cousins , aunties , uncles , and his families ,,, god has his own punishments for you guys ...my son john konelio tagoai i miss you so very much , i love you always and forever , mom , faamalele keki faatiliga ..... ya'll have your days coming from our heavenly father up above .. our lord ....amen....
