A story for every victim

Andrew Williams [Updated]

Andrew Williams, a black man in his 20s, was shot and killed Saturday, March 29, in the 1200 block of E. Rosecrans in Compton, according to authorities.

Williams was one of three people shot to death in what Los Angeles County sheriff's deputies later said they believed had been a robbery.

More than two months after the triple homicide, sheriff's investigators said they had tied three men, Hector Prieto, a 20-year-old Latino, Jose Prieto, a 23-year-old Latino, and Jesse Robles, a 20-year-old Latino, to the homicides.

At the time of that news release, sheriff's officials said all three already were in custody on unrelated felony charges.

[Updated March 2, 2011, 3:30 p.m.: According to the Los Angeles County district attorney's office, the Prietos and Robles have each been charged with three counts of murder, one count of attempted murder and one count of second-degree robbery.

All three men are being held without bail and are scheduled to appear at the Los Angeles Superior Court on March 15.]
