Parrish Reed, 17

Parrish Reed, a 17-year-old black youth, was stabbed to death Saturday, Dec. 5, in the 12100 block of San Fernando Road in Sylmar, authorities said.

His older sister allegedly stabbed him in the chest inside an apartment, authorities said.

After responding to an initial report of a shooting, officers arrived at the scene about 8:40 to discover the boy had been stabbed, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

Amber Reed, 20, was arrested and charged with killing her brother, police said. She is being held in lieu of $1-million bail.

According to detectives, the siblings were arguing over money when Amber Reed grabbed a knife from the kitchen and stabbed her brother in the chest. Reed was taken to a hospital, where he later died, said Lt. Cheryl MacWillie of the L.A. County coroner’s office.
