Racyncia Lynette Nelson, 43

Racyncia Nelson, a 43-year-old black woman, died Wednesday, Oct. 5, in the 8700 block of South La Salle Avenue in Gramercy Park, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.

Nelson was found Wednesday morning with blunt head trauma, said Ed Winter, spokesman for the coroner's office.

Authorities were called, and the victim was pronounced dead at the scene about 7:40 a.m.

Coroner's records show Nelson died from asphyxia by another person, Winter said.

Officials provided no other information about the death.
