Sulema Wilborn, 51

Sulema Wilborn, a 51-year-old Latina, was fatally shot Wednesday, Aug. 4, near Slauson Avenue and Main Street in South Park, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.

Sulema and her husband, Jerriel Wilborn, a 49-year-old black man, were driving on Slauson Avenue, about a quarter of a mile from the 110 Freeway, when they were both shot, said Det. Thomas Brown of the Los Angeles Police Department's Newton division.

Authorities were called and the couple was pronounced dead at the scene at 3:43 a.m., according to coroner's records.

Brown said there were no witnesses to the shooting. The incident may be gang-related.
