Uimaitua Fernando Brooks, 43

Uimaitua Fernando Brooks, a 43-year-old black man, died Tuesday, April 28, after he was shot in the 1800 block of South Longwood Avenue in Mid-City, according to Los Angeles County coroner’s records.

Shortly before midnight on April 27, police responded to a call of a shooting. Officers arrived and found a man holding Brooks in the street, according to a news release from the Los Angeles Police Department.

Brooks was pronounced dead at the scene at 12:03 a.m. April 28, according to the coroner’s office.

Police said they are looking for two black men wearing white T-shirts who were last seen walking south on South Longwood Avenue toward Mascot Street.
