William Tyreeque Gist, 18

William Tyreeque Gist, an 18-year-old black man, was fatally stabbed July 23 near West 225th Street and South Main Street in Carson, according to Los Angeles County coroner’s records.

Gist and two other men were walking down West 225th Street shortly before 9:30 p.m. when a champagne-colored SUV, possibly a Chevrolet Tahoe or Suburban, stopped near the group, according to a news release from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department. The SUV stopped and about six men got out and began to assault the three men.

Gist, along with the other two men, were taken to a hospital. Gist was pronounced dead at 11 p.m.  One man was treated for stab wounds and another was treated for a head injury.
