Wilson Pierre, 22

Wilson Pierre, a 22-year-old black man, was shot and killed Saturday, Aug. 20, in the 8100 block of Coldwater Canyon Avenue in Sun Valley, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.

Officers responded to a shooting call about 1:35 a.m. and found Deon Bastian, a 22-year-old black man, in a backyard with a gunshot wound to the head, according to an LAPD news release. Paramedics were called and Bastian was pronounced dead at the scene, officials said.

Soon after, Pierre was discovered with a gunshot wound to the chest. He was taken to Kaiser Panorama City Medical Center where he ultimately succumbed to his injuries.

During the investigation, detectives learned that Bastian and Pierre were shot following a fight at a party. The shooter was described a black male.

Additionally, police said a Sony High Definition hand held camcorder was removed from the party. It may contain evidence that could be crucial in identifying the shooter(s), officials said.

The incident is believed to be gang-related.
