Winston Anthony Towns, 27

Winston Towns, a 27-year-old black man, was fatally shot Thursday, Sept. 22, in the 1700 block of 106th Street in Westmont, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.

Towns was walking shortly after 7 p.m. when a car pulled up and a man got out, said Deputy Guillermina Saldana of the Sheriff's Department.

He shot the pedestrian, then jumped back in the car and drove off, Saldana said.

The victim was pronounced dead at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center. Coroner's records show he suffered several gunshot wounds.

Anyone with information about the killing is asked to contact the sheriff’s homicide bureau at (323) 890-5500. Tipsters who would like to remain anonymous can call Crime Stoppers at (800) 222-8477.
