Aspen Geurts, a 15-year-old white teenager, was fatally stabbed Wednesday, Nov. 4 in the 300 block of Andover Drive in Claremont, according to Los Angeles County coroner’s records.
Claremont Police officers responded to a home about 5 p.m. after they received a call about the attack. Paramedics arrived and found Geurts bleeding from a stomach wound. They attempted life-saving measures, but she was pronounced dead at the scene at 5:30 p.m., according to coroner’s records.
Claremont Lt. Mike Cizek said the teenager was stabbed with a kitchen knife. Officers tracked down a 14-year-old boy walking from the residence and determined he was Geurts' brother. He was questioned then arrested on suspicion of murder.
Police said it’s unclear why the brother allegedly stabbed his sister.

Shirley Isom, a 74-year-old white woman, was found dead Friday, Dec. 26, in the 300 block of Roughrider Road in Claremont, according to authorities.
A groundskeeper on Isom’s 80-acre hilltop estate found the woman and her husband, Armie “Troy” Isom, 89, slain inside the home and called authorities about 1:20 p.m.
Lt. Dave Coleman described the attack on Shirley Isom as extremely bloody. She suffered both stab wounds and blunt force trauma and died at the scene.
Armie Isom, who was also beaten and stabbed, was taken to a hospital, where he died later that day. The attack occurred both inside and outside the house, though its chronology remains unclear, Coleman said.
“We have blood evidence, DNA evidence that we have to identify, locate and collect both inside, outside and then all the way down the drive,” he said.

Ariel Williams, a black newborn, died Saturday, Oct. 24, in Claremont, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.
According to coroner's records, Ariel was born into a toilet. Although she lived hours at a hospital, records show there was a delay in her caretaker seeking help. Her death is listed as a homicide.

Alan Lindley, a 60-year-old white male, died Friday, Jan. 30, at 106 W. Arrow Highway in Claremont, according to the Los Angeles County coroner.
Coroner's records said that Lindley showed signs of multiple "sharp force injuries." His death was listed as a homicide.
