Alfred Lee Johnson, a 74-year-old black man, was found fatally stabbed Sunday, April 10 in the 1100 block of Colorado Boulevard in Eagle Rock, according to Los Angeles County coroner’s records.
About 10:30 a.m., an anonymous person called 911 to report a person who was unresponsive, said Ed Winter, assistant chief of investigations for the coroner’s office.
Authorities from the Los Angeles Police Department's Northeast Division arrived and found Johnson dead with several stab wounds, Officer Ryan Watterson said in an email.
Johnson was pronounced dead inside the apartment at 10:50 a.m., according to coroner’s records.
Watterson said that Johnson’s nephew, Michael Haynes, was arrested on suspicion of murder.
Haynes, a 31-year-old black man, is being held on $2-million bail, according to online jail records.
Haynes was charged April 12 with one count of murder and is due back in court May 9 for an arraignment, according to the Los Angeles …
Monte Scott Raffaele, a 53-year-old white man, was stabbed to death Saturday, July 4, at the corner of North Figueroa and La Loma Road in Eagle Rock, according to Los Angeles County coroner’s records.
The incident began about 8:30 p.m. when Raffaele and his adult son were walking in the neighborhood “making a lot of noise,” and a resident yelled at them to quiet down, said LAPD Det. Harold DiCroce.
Either Raffaele or his son allegedly responded by saying something like, “What are you going to do about it,?” DiCroce said. Within a few minutes, he said, the resident and his father were in the street confronting Raffaele and his son.
The four men began fighting, and either Raffaele or his son allegedly sprayed the younger resident with pepper spray, DiCroce said. Raffaele and his son then ran away, with the younger resident in pursuit, the detective said.

Andrew Michael Stittiams, a 19-year-old black man, was stabbed to death Monday, Nov. 11, in the 7100 block of North Figueroa Street in Eagle Rock, according to Los Angeles County coroner’s records.
Stittiams was standing on a sidewalk in the area when three people in a vehicle drove up about 4:30 p.m., Los Angeles Police Officer Bruce Borihanh said.
A person got out of the vehicle, rushed Stittiams and stabbed him multiple times, Borihanh said. Stittiams was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 6:08 p.m., according to coroner’s records.

Salvador Ayala, a 26-year-old Latino, was stabbed to death Saturday, Oct. 31, in the 100 block of East Avenue 45 in Highland Park, authorities said.
Ayala and Javier Mejia, a 43-year-old Latino, were drinking with a third person when they got into a dispute. The third person stabbed both men, said LAPD Det. Jose Carrillo.
Authorities did not identify the assailant, who they said was still at large.

Carlos Gonzalez, a 37-year-old Latino, was shot and killed in a gang feud Sunday, March 1, 2009, in the 4300 block of Toland Way in Eagle Rock, according to authorities.
He was one of two men killed Sunday in a rampage that also left another man wounded.
Police said the shootings began about 5 p.m. Sunday when Andrew Upshaw, 33, a member of the Echo Park gang who lives in Pasadena, allegedly drove his black pickup truck to the 2000 block of Echo Park Avenue and shot William Vargas, 33.
Vargas was taken to a hospital, where he was listed in stable condition.
About two minutes later, police allege Upshaw drove to the 1600 block of Baxter Street, where he shot and killed Eric Zamarripa.
A neighbor who saw a truck pull up to Zamarripa's house said he heard the shooter say, "Eric, how about if you die today?"
Christopher O'Leary, 34, a white man, was fatally shot near the intersection of Lincoln Avenue and Avenue 46 in Highland Park on Sunday, Jan. 20. O'Leary was on his way to the store when a man or youth approached him and shot him. A passerby discovered the body and reported it to police. The motive is still unclear, said homicide Det. Lewis Lenchuk of LAPD's Northeast Division. O'Leary was taken to Huntington Memorial Hospital in Pasadena, where he was pronounced dead at 9:11 p.m.
