Jorge Ocon, a 29-year-old Latino, was fatally shot by police Friday, Nov. 25, in the 800 block of East Jefferson Avenue in Historic South-Central, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.

Ocon was walking when he was stopped by officers.

Los Angeles Police Department officials called the nature of the encounter "routine," but said the exact reason remains under investigation.

Ocon pulled out a gun, officials said, and the officers fired, striking him twice. He was taken to a nearby hospital, where he died during surgery.

Coroner's records show Ocon was shot several times.

About 19 yrs back when I was in middle school me, George and other friends were walking back home from the amigos swaptmeet and I remember two police officers pulling us over. I had a spray paint in a bag, brand new and unused that I baught to paint a bike. The officers who pulled us over one was black and the driver was white. I remember being hand cuffed and the white officer opened up the cap from the spraypaint and then porpousely spraying a near by wall. The owner of the property saw this. I was written an unfair ticket that I had to pay, this happened many years ago on griffith and jefferson. Police have been unfair with us for as long as I can remember so I do not believe anything these officers have to say, they have lied before and they will lie again. RIP teer
