Emmanuel Gatewood, a 17-year-old black man, died Wednesday, July 11, a day after he was shot in the 1400 block of West 123rd Street in Athens, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.

Gatewood was injured in a walk-up shooting July 10, officials said.

After the incident, the victim was taken to Ronald Reagan-UCLA Medical Center in Westwood, where he was pronounced dead the next day, the Sheriff's Department said.

There were no other details provided about the case.
