Lanette Washington, 29

Lanette Washington, a 29-year-old black woman, died Friday, April 21, after being shot in the 5900 block of Long Beach Boulevard in Long Beach, according to Los Angeles County coroner’s records. 

Long Beach police responded about 10 a.m. to a motel where a woman had been shot, according to a police news release. Officers found Washington in a room with multiple gunshot wounds. She was transported to a hospital where she died at 10:22 a.m., according to coroner’s records. 

Homicide detectives described the suspect as a black man in his 20s , wearing a red shirt and jeans. Police believe the shooting may have happened as a result of a dispute.
