Treavor Robinson, a 22-year-old black man, was fatally shot Thursday, Aug. 22, in the 800 block of West Colden Avenue in Vermont Vista, according to the Los Angeles County coroner’s office.

Robinson was standing in front of an apartment building with another person shortly after 10 p.m. when a caravan of several vehicles drove past, said LAPD Det. Supervisor Sal LaBarbera.

A person in a light-colored sport-utility vehicle fired several shots, striking Robinson and a 46-year-old man, LaBarbera said.

Robinson was taken to a hospital where he died at 10:35 p.m., said coroner’s spokesman Ed Winter. The other man is expected to survive.
