Previously unidentified victim in Hacienda Heights double stabbing was a teenage boy
The person found dead in a Hacienda Heights home along with an 84-year-old woman has been identified as a 16-year-old boy, but investigators say they're no closer to identifying those responsible for their grisly deaths
Gavin Bustamante, a 16-year-old white male, was found in a bedroom of a house in the 16000 block of Carriage Place on Oct. 7, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records. He was initially identified by the coroner's office as John Doe No. 248.
The body of June Collins, the 84-year-old owner of the home, was found in another room. Both victims had been stabbed to death and were in advanced stages of decomposition when they were discovered by deputies.
Collins suffered from dementia, said Los Angeles County Sheriff's Lt. John Corina, and her son was in county jail for elder abuse against his mother at the time she and Bustamante died.
