Angel Aguayo died after being injured at 433 Grand Street in Pomona on Thursday, June 7. No more information was available on this case. Pomona police have not yet returned phone calls.

Rosa Maria Gonzalez, 43, a Latina woman, was killed by a man in a murder-suicide case in the 1437 S. Woods Avenue in East Los Angeles on Thursday, June 7. The man who committed suicide at the location was Rogelio Gonzalez.

Christopher Marvin Rice, 22, a black man, was shot in the 700 block of Long Beach Boulevard and died at St. Francis Medical Center  about 6:45 p.m. on Thursday, June 7.

Andrew Padilla, a 21-year-old Latino young man, was chased down and killed near the southwest corner of Wilmington Avenue and Cherry Street in Compton on Tuesday evening, June 5, about 8:09 p.m.

A black man between the ages of 20 and 23 pursued him on foot and shot him, according to sheriff's deputies. Padilla was transported to UCLA-Harbor Medical Center, where he died.

Jose Garcia, a 27-year-old Latino male, died Tuesday, June 5, after sustaining blunt force trauma in Chinatown, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.

Keith Hardy, 36, a black man, died from a shooting at 300 N. Willowbrook Ave. in Compton around  7 p.m. on Monday, June 4. The killing was related to an argument, police said. Hardy died at St. Francis Medical Center.

Laron Rose Brown, a 30-year-old black male, died Monday, June 4, after being shot in Altadena, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.

Ruben Darrell Duran, a 56-year-old Latino male, died Monday, June 4, in Boyle Heights, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.

Alyssa Margie Gomez, a 15-year-old Latina, was found dead Monday, June 4, near the 4200 block of Sunset Boulevard in Silver Lake, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.

Alyssa was a homeless teenager who had been living on the streets for at least three years, said LAPD Northeast Det. James Yamada, who handled the investigation. She had previously been in foster care, but ran away, he said.

The teen was involved in drugs and prostitution when she met Gilton Pitre, a 38-year-old black man, on June 3, Yamada said. The two went to the Olive Hotel in Silver Lake where they had sex. For reasons that remain unknown, Pitre killed Alyssa, Yamada said.

Her cause of death was listed as asphyxiation through strangulation, according to the coroner's office.

Irvin Carter, a 45-year-old black man, was shot at 1022 S. Muriel Ave. in East Rancho Dominguez, and died at 6:21 p.m. Sunday, June 3.

A Latino man in his 20s slashed Carter with a knife at about 5:48 p.m. on the street, then walked away. Neighbors flagged down deputies and told them to follow the suspect. The deputies tracked him down and arrested him based on information from Carter's neighbors. He was a tidy man living on disability who was very well liked in the neighborhood, investigators said. It is not known why his assailant killed him.

James McKinney, 41, a white man, suffered blunt force trauma to the head at Wilton Avenue and Olympic Boulevard in LAPD's Wilshire Division, and died at 11:41 a.m. Sunday, June 3.

McKinney was a well-known and popular resident of the area who ran errands for neighbors, according to LAPD Wilshire Det. John Shafia. Unable to work due to a psychological disability, he lived in a board-and-care home at that intersection.

That night, at about 8:45 p.m., he left home to go to a local liquor store. A Latino man in his 20s ran up to him and struck him from behind with a baseball bat. Someone saw it happen and called police. McKinney was taken to Cedars-Sinai Hospital, where he died.

Reza Tehrani, a 37-year-old man of Middle Eastern descent, was found dead on a bus bench of blunt-force trauma in the 1500 block of Palisades Park along Ocean Avenue in Santa Monica about 8 a.m. Sunday, June 3.

A passerby flagged down police after seeing him lying on the bench, with blood on his forehead. Tehrani is thought to be homeless, and police believe he may have been struck by someone.

The area is in the part of the park adjacent to the senior center near Broadway. Anyone passing through there early Sunday morning who may have seen anything is asked to call Santa Monica police at (310) 458-8451, or after hours at (310) 458-8427.

Dennise Regalado, an 18-year-old Latina young woman, died at St. Francis Medical Center in  Lynwood on Monday, June 4.

Regalado was wounded in a shooting that also injured three other people in the 6100 block of Middleton Avenue in Huntington Park on Sunday, June 3,  about 10:30 p.m. She was taken to a hospital, where she died at about 1 a.m. Monday. The other victims are expected to survive.

Kevin Smoot, 29, a black man, was shot in the right eye at 44907 16th Street East in Lancaster and died at 11:02 p.m. Saturday, June 2.

Henry Rodriguez Jr., 44, a Latino man, was shot at 504 N. St. Louis Street in Boyle Heights in LAPD's Hollenbeck Division, and died at 5:25 p.m. Saturday, June 2.

Rodriguez was standing with a group of transients in the street.  A car drove up. Someone yelled "Where you from?" Some answer came back from the group, but the response was gunfire. Rodriguez was struck and transported to County-USC, where he died.
