Larry Bressler, a 50-year-old white man, was fatally stabbed Monday, Oct. 13, in the 200 block of North Madison Avenue in Pasadena, according to Los Angeles County coroner’s records.
After being stabbed, Bressler called 911 about 6:20 a.m., said Lt. Tracy Ibarra, spokeswoman for the Pasadena Police Department. Officers and paramedics who arrived at the scene found Bressler and his wife, 64-year-old Denise Bressler, with stab wounds.
Detectives found a knife in the apartment where the stabbing took place. About a block away, police found Jacob Mallory Bersson, 29, covered in blood. Bersson, who was implicated in the 911 call, is a cousin of Larry Bressler, police said.
Police do not know a motive behind the attack.
Bersson was charged Oct. 15 with two counts of murder with a special circumstance of multiple murders and an allegation that he used a knife in the attack, according to the Los Angeles …

Luis Fernando Aguiar, a 91-year-old Latino, was shot and killed Saturday, July 12, in the 1700 block of North Summit Avenue in Pasadena, according to Los Angeles County coroner’s records.
Aguiar was shot inside a home about 4:20 p.m. He was pronounced dead at the scene at 5:21 p.m. He was the first death in a shooting rampage that left three people dead.
His daughter, Maria Teresa Aguiar, 59, was fatally wounded outside the home while she was trying to run away from the gunman, officials said.

Around 4:20 p.m., the Pasadena Police Department received several 911 calls of shots fired in the area, police said. Iribe, who lived in the neighborhood was north of the shooting and “ran toward the gunfire,” said Pasadena Police Chief Phillip L. Sanchez.
Police described Iribe as a “good Samaritan,” who was attempting to help other people who were wounded. He was pronounced dead in a driveway at 5:25 p.m., according to coroner’s records.
The gunman, identified by police as John Izeal Smith, a 44-year-old black man, first allegedly shot and killed Luis Fernando Aguiar, 91, inside a home.

Steven Ascencio, an 18-year-old Latino was shot and killed Feb. 17 in the 1400 block of El Sereno Avenue in Pasadena, according to Los Angeles County coroner’s records.
The drive-by shooting was reported about 9:45 p.m. Monday, according to a Pasadena Police Department statement.
Ascencio, was struck by gunfire and pronounced dead at the scene, authorities said. Another man and a teenager were wounded and are expected survive, according to police and the Los Angeles County coroner’s office.
Authorities did not have descriptions of the suspects. Homicide detectives are investigating the shooting.

Irais Acosta Olvera, a 19-year-old Latina, was shot and killed Sunday, Feb. 16, in the 1500 block of North Raymond Avenue in Pasadena, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.
Officers responded about 8:50 a.m. to a residence on Raymond Avenue after reports of gunfire in the area, said Pasadena Police Lt. Jason Clawson.
Olvera was found inside the residence with a gunshot wound to the head, according to police and Los Angeles County coroner’s records.
On Monday, Pasadena police arrested Jonjon Crummie, 18, on suspicion of killing Olvera.
Crummie was taken into custody around 4 p.m. at the Los Angeles County Medical Center after his mother brokered a surrender deal with authorities, Pasadena police said.
Police allege Crummie was seen running from the scene.
Crummie is being held on $1-million bail.
