Victor Salvador Herrera, a 40-year-old Latino, died Sunday, Sept. 9, after he was intentionally struck by a car at Orange Avenue and East Market Street in Long Beach, according to the Long Beach Police Department.
The night before, about 11 p.m., Herrera was walking in the area when he got into an argument with a man driving a red sedan, according to a department news release.
Herrera was standing in the center median of the road, still arguing with the driver, when the suspect ran him over with his sedan and drove away heading west on Market Street, the police news release said.
Herrera was taken to Long Beach Memorial Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead at 12:25 a.m. on Sept. 9, according to coroner’s records.
