Luis Roberto Navarro-Nuno, a 53-year-old Latino, died Wednesday April 5, after he was fatally stabbed near South San Pedro and East 5th streets in downtown L.A., according to Los Angeles County coroner’s records.
On April 3, officers from the Los Angeles Police Department’s Central Division responded to a call of an assault with a deadly weapon near South San Pedro and East 7th streets, where they found Navarro-Nuno with stab wounds, according to a news release from the LAPD.
Navarro-Nuno was pronounced dead on April 5 at 11:58 a.m., according to coroner’s records.
Investigators later discovered that Navarro-Nuno had been injured while trying to stop two women who attempted to take another woman’s purse, police said.
