Paul Ray Kemp Jr., a 40-year-old black man, was shot and killed by an Inglewood Police officer in the 3800 block of West 113th Street in Inglewood, according to Los Angeles County coroner’s records.
About 2:53 a.m., police received a call of “unknown trouble” in the area and arrived to find Kemp in a fight with another man, according to a coroner’s report. Police asked the men to stop fighting, and Kemp ran east on West 113th Street.
An Inglewood police sergeant ran after Kemp and into a frontyard where a fight ensued.The sergeant then pulled out his gun and fired at Kemp, who collapsed, according to the narrative in the report.
Paramedics arrived and pronounced Kemp dead at 3:13 a.m. According to the report, Kemp had six gunshot wounds and had hit by a Taser.
An officer was also shot in the hand and hospitalized.

Juan Manuel Hernandez, a 51-year-old Latino male, died Thursday, May 1, after sustaining blunt force trauma in Inglewood, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.
Hoover Darnell Carter, a 56-year-old black man, was shot and killed Friday, April 25, in the 700 block of Isis Avenue in Inglewood, according to Los Angeles County coroner’s records.
About 6:40 a.m., Inglewood police officers were called to the area and found Carter, who had been shot in the upper torso, according to a news release from the department.
Carter was pronounced dead at 6:44 a.m. at a hospital.
Investigators believe that Carter was involved with an argument with Sherman Lee moments before the shooting. Witnesses said Lee was seen fleeing the location after the killing, according to the release.

Corey Donte Kahn, a 25-year-old black man, was shot and killed Friday, April 4, near South Lemoli Avenue and West 108th Street in Inglewood, according to Los Angeles County coroner’s records.
About 11:49 p.m. Thursday, witnesses reported hearing gunshots in the residential area. Officers arrived and found Corey Kahn, 25, unresponsive on a sidewalk, according to a news release from the Inglewood Police Department.
Kahn was pronounced dead at the scene at 12:01 a.m. April 4., said Ed Winter, a coroner’s spokesman.
Witnesses saw a Latino man with a shaved head leaving the scene and entering a white vehicle with other people inside, said Capt. James Madia with the Inglewood Police Department.
The vehicle was last seen traveling eastbound on West 108th Street, Madia said.

Dominique Lee Austin, a 25-year-old black man, was shot and killed Monday, March 31, in the 8200 block of Crenshaw Drive in Inglewood, according to Los Angeles County coroner’s records.
Austin was coming home from work shortly before 8:30 a.m. and was outside his apartment when a vehicle drove by and a person shot at him from inside, witnesses told the Inglewood Police Department.
He was pronounced dead at the scene at 8:39 a.m., according to coroner’s records.

Akeem Dashawn Leggins, a 23-year-old black man, was shot and killed Tuesday, Feb. 18, near West Beach Avenue and Venice Way in Inglewood, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.
Leggins was found about 5:25 p.m. lying on the sidewalk near a bus stop with a gunshot wound, according to the Inglewood Police Department.
Witnesses told police that a person got out of a pickup truck and shot Leggins. The person then got back into the truck, which sped away.
Leggins was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead at 6:04 p.m., said Ed Winter, a coroner's spokesman.

Abel Moses Anchondo, a 29-year-old Latino, was shot and killed Jan. 26, 2014, in the 800 block of South Ash Avenue in Inglewood, according to Los Angeles County coroner’s records.
Around 9:11 a.m., Inglewood police responded to a call of a shooting victim in the area and discovered Anchondo lying near the sidewalk, officials said in a news release.
Anchondo, who was unresponsive, was transported to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 9:53 a.m.
Witnesses reported hearing several gunshots and seeing an unknown individual running away from the area.
