Delfon Garnell Kinney Sr., 48, was fatally shot Wednesday, Oct. 23, in the 1700 block of Artesia Boulevard in Long Beach, according to Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner-Coroner records.
Investigators believe Kinney, a resident of Long Beach, shot at least two other people in the Bottoms Up Sports Bar before he was shot by a bar patron and then police officers, according to a Long Beach Police Department news release.
When SWAT officers entered the bar, they found Kinney lying unresponsive on the ground, holding a firearm, according to the news release.
Both Kinney and Manuel Eugenio "Manny" Marquez, 44, were pronounced dead at the scene around 12:20 a.m., shortly after the shooting began.

Donald Douglas Lee MacFarlane, a 53-year-old white man, was shot and killed by police officers Wednesday, March 7, at Ocean Boulevard and Chestnut Place in Long Beach, according to Los Angeles County coroner’s records.
Long Beach Police were called to a home near Long Beach Boulevard and 4th Street around 3:55 p.m. regarding a “hysterical female” who said her husband had a gun and was threatening to blow up the Glenn M. Anderson Federal Building with explosives in his white Chevrolet van, according to a department news release.

About 12:50 a.m., Long Beach police responded to a call from a Holiday Inn employee who said he was being held hostage by a gunman, according to a Long Beach Police Department news release.
Upon arriving, officers could see Vo in the lobby armed with a gun, the release said. The officers tried to get Vo to put down the weapon, but he did not comply, the release said.
At that point, two officers opened fire on Vo, said the release. He was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead at 1:55 a.m., according to coroner’s records. The cause of death was listed as multiple gunshot wounds.

Michele Anne Marie Rice, a 33-year-old white woman, was shot and killed by Long Beach police Wednesday, June 7, in the 3000 block of Studebaker Road in Long Beach, according to Los Angeles County coroner’s records.
Rice and her boyfriend were involved in an argument at a home about 12 a.m., according to a police news release. When the boyfriend left and drove away, Rice pulled out a gun and fired several shots at the vehicle, the release said.
The boyfriend called police and directed them toward the house. Upon arriving, officers told Rice to drop her weapon, but she pointed the handgun at police, according to the release. Several officers then opened fire on Rice.
Rice died at the scene at 12:55 a.m., according to coroner’s records.

Police officers tried to persuade Pream to surrender, but she refused and began walking toward the nearby Veterans Hospital. Officers then attempted to use a taser on Pream, but the device misfired.
Pream tried to approach the officers with the knife, and two opened fire, hitting her in the stomach and legs. Long Beach police identified the two officers as Eliser Domingo and Bradley Muhlenkamp, both of whom were hired in April 2016.

The incident began about 9:15 p.m. when police received a call from a man who said he was armed with a handgun and wanted to commit "suicide by cop," according to a statement from the Long Beach Police Department.
Police used a helicopter to find the man in the area, and officers determined he had "something in his hands," police said.
Police officers, including a mental-evaluation officer, were adjusting their position to better negotiate with the man about 10:15 p.m. when the man "charged at officers," the police statement said.

Barry Prak, a 27-year-old Asian man, was shot and killed by a Long Beach police officer Tuesday, June 28, in the 2800 block of East 15th Street in Long Beach, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.
Prak was a suspect in a Jan. 26, 2014, gang shooting in Long Beach that injured three men, according to a Long Beach Police Department news release. Investigators got a warrant for Prak’s arrest in April.
Around 9 a.m. on June 28, members of the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force requested assistance from Long Beach police after they spotted Prak and tried to arrest him in the area of 16th Street and Temple Avenue, the news release said.
Prak allegedly ran from the marshals, who pursued him on foot to an apartment on East 15th Street.

Lionel Gibson, a 21-year-old black man, was killed by police officers on Saturday, May 7, in an alley behind Locust Avenue at 21st Street in Long Beach, according to records from the Los Angeles County coroner’s office.
News releases from the Long Beach Police Department say six officers shot Gibson after he reached toward the butt of a gun in his waistband. But an attorney for Gibson’s family, which is filing a wrongful death claim against the city, said witnesses told him that Gibson had his hands in the air when the officers began firing.
Gibson's gun was an airsoft replica assault rifle, according to the news release. Airsoft guns are non-lethal firearms used for games and military practice.

Martin Rene Hurtado, a 21-year-old Latino, was shot and killed after an incident with Long Beach Police officers Thursday, March 10, near East 68th Street and Long Beach Boulevard in Long Beach, according to Los Angeles County coroner’s records.
Officers were patrolling in the area about 6:23 p.m., as part of the department’s new focus on removing guns from city streets, when “they observed a vehicle code violation,” according to a department news release. The violation was not described.
The vehicle began driving through the neighborhood in a “suspicious and evasive manner,” according to the release. As the officers were preparing to conduct a traffic stop, the vehicle suddenly stopped in the middle of Long Beach Boulevard and a passenger later identified as Hurtado jumped out of the car and ran east.
