Deshawn Childs, a 38-year-old black man, was shot and killed Saturday, Sept. 26, in the 12300 block of Wilmington Avenue in Florence-Firestone, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.
About 1:40 a.m., Los Angeles County sheriff's deputies were called to the area regarding a gunshot victim, according to a news release from the department.
Deputies arrived to find Childs on the ground suffering from gunshot wounds.
Witnesses told authorities that Childs and another man were at Dee's Liquor near Wilmington Avenue and East 124th Street when they got into an argument. The two left the store together and walked south on Wilmington Avenue. As Childs and the man were walking, the man pulled out a gun and shot Childs.
The gunman got into a gray vehicle and drove away, authorities said.
At this time, it is unknown what the argument was over.

Tyrone Duran, a 42-year-old Latino, was stabbed to death Saturday, Sept. 26, in the 13500 block of Trumball Street in South Whittier, according to Los Angeles County coroner’s records.
The stabbing occurred at 7:30 a.m., in a residential neighborhood, according to a news release from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
Duran, who lived in San Gabriel, was taken to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead at 8:17 a.m., according to coroner’s records.

A group of three men hugged each other as they marched toward the spot Todd James Britt was fatally shot.
The men had formed a deep bond with the 51-year-old, who had supported them through difficulty.
On Sept. 16 about 6 p.m. Britt was walking his dog in the 7900 block of South Normandie Avenue in Vermont Knolls when he was approached by a man who shot him.
Britt was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead. He was the eighth person to be killed in Vermont Knolls this year, according to the Times Homicide Report database.
Last year, 12 people were killed in the area. Detectives do not have a motive and have not found any suspects.

Darrell L. Beauvais, a 48-year-old black man, was shot and killed Friday, Sept. 25, in the 5400 block of Holmes Avenue in Central-Alameda, according to Los Angeles County coroner’s records.
About 11:15 p.m., Beauvais was standing in the street when a person drove up in a vehicle and shot him, said LAPD Det. Richard Arciniega. Police are still trying to narrow down a vehicle description.
Beauvais was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead at 11:48 p.m., according to coroner’s records.

Jeremy Cornell McFarland, a 22-year-old black man, was shot and killed in the 5600 block of Lime Avenue, near East 56th Street in Long Beach, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.
Long Beach police went to the scene about 4:11 a.m., after receiving a call about a person who had been shot, according to a department news release.
When officers arrived they found McFarland lying in the street with gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene at 4:25 a.m., according to coroner's records
McFarland lived in Bellflower, according to coroner's records. Investigators said they have no information about suspects or the motive behind the shooting.

Artemio Escobar, a 42-year-old Latino male, died Thursday, Sept. 24, after sustaining blunt force trauma in Baldwin Hills/Crenshaw, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.
Luis Humberto Virgen Jr., a 21-year-old Latino, was shot and killed Wednesday, Sept. 23, as he was walking in the 15100 block of Grayland Avenue in Norwalk, according to Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department homicide investigators.
Virgen and a female friend were walking south on Grayland Avenue, through the parking lot of an elementary school, when a white vehicle drove up beside them about 10:34 p.m., said Lt. Steve Jauch with the sheriff's department.
Two Latino adults got out of the car and started shooting at the couple, Jauch said. He said he couldn’t comment on whether the shooters said anything before they began firing.
Virgen was hit by gunfire multiple times, Jauch said, and his companion was struck once. Virgen was taken to UC Irvine Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead at 10:52 p.m., according to Orange County coroner’s records.

Sheriff's deputies were called about 6:40 p.m. to a medical marijuana dispensary called Chief Keef Glo Shop about a person who was dead, said Lt. Steve Jauch. When deputies arrived, they found two men dead inside the shop: Brown and Marqese “Wolf Da Boss” Tann, a 36-year-old black man and reported owner of the shop.
Investigators didn't have a motive for the shooting Sept. 24, and Jauch said it wasn't clear how long the men had been dead. Investigators also don't know how the two victims were connected or whether Brown was a customer or employee of the shop.

Francisco Bautista, a 15-year-old Latino, died Wednesday, Sept. 23, after being shot in Florence, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.
Shortly after 4:30 p.m. Francisco was in an alley with a 19-year-old friend, police said. The two were allegedly spray painting a wall when a gunman walked up and began shooting at the two.
The friend managed to run away, but Francisco was struck and killed.

Investigators are asking for the community's help in identifying two young black men who allegedly shot and killed Lynwood resident Francisco Revolorio as he was out for his evening walk on Aug. 25, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department Homicide Bureau.
Revolorio, 46, was walking in his neighborhood about 8:55 p.m., just a short distance from his home in the 3600 block of Magnolia Avenue, when he was confronted and shot by two men who were also on foot, according to a Sheriff's Department news release.
Witnesses described the men as black, between the ages of 20 and 22, and about 5 feet 8 to 5 feet 10. After the shooting, they ran east on Magnolia Avenue and then south on Bullis Road, according to the release.
The Sheriff's Department issued an information wanted poster Tuesday, with a photograph of Revolorio.

Wendell Dechaun Lee Jr., a 25-year-old black man, died Tuesday, Sept. 22 after he was shot in the 12200 block of Elva Avenue in Willowbrook, according to Los Angeles County coroner’s records.
About 11:45 p.m. on Sept. 21, Lee was visiting a friend and the two were standing outside the woman’s home when a sedan pulled up and a man got out of the back driver’s side seat, said Lt. Holly Francisco with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
The man shot Lee multiple times, then got back into the car.
Francisco said that the woman was not injured during the shooting, and the man didn’t say anything before he opened fire.
Lee was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 12:46 a.m. on Sept. 22, according to coroner’s records.
