Deangelo Lopez, a 22-year-old black man, was shot and killed by an L.A. County sheriff’s deputy on Thursday, June 27 in the 1100 block of West Arbutus Street in Compton, according to L.A. County coroner’s records.
According to the Sheriff’s Department account, deputies responded to a call reporting a burglary in progress and found Lopez attempting to escape a house about 5:50 a.m. Lopez allegedly confronted deputies and pointed a revolver at them, according to a department news release.
Lopez was hit by gunfire. He was pronounced dead at 7 a.m. in the yard, according to coroner’s records. Sheriff’s officials said a weapon was recovered at the scene.

Floyd Darnell Videau, a 42-year-old black man, was fatally wounded on Sunday, June 23, in the 2000 block of East 114th Street in Watts, according to L.A. County coroner’s records.
Videau was standing near the playground at 4:30 a.m. near the Imperial Courts housing project when a gunman approached and fired several shots from a pistol, said LAPD Det. Sal LaBarbera.
The shooter then fled on foot, leaving Videau wounded in the upper torso, LaBarbera said.
Videau was pronounced dead at 4:40 a.m., according to coroner’s records.

Clarence Bourne, a 20-year-old black man, was fatally wounded Sunday, June 23, in the 3900 block of South Budlong Avenue in Exposition Park, according to L.A. County coroner’s records.
Bourne had left his girlfriend’s house about 9:55 p.m. and was walking southbound on South Budlong Avenue when one to two people approached Bourne and fired multiple gunshots, said LAPD Det. Sal LaBarbera.
Bourne, who worked a construction job in Santa Monica, fell to the ground and was later found on the sidewalk.
He was pronounced dead at 10:15 p.m., according to coroner’s records. Police are seeking witnesses to the shooting.

Maria Elizabeth Padilla Zavala, a 34-year-old Latino female, died Sunday, June 23, after being shot in Pico-Union, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.
Lidia Castillo, a 45-year-old Latina, was found dead from strangulation Sunday, June 23, 2013 in the 2500 block of East Avenue I in Lancaster, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.
Castillo, a mother of four, had been dead for at least three days when a concerned family member went to her home and discovered her body, said Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department Det. Ray Lugo. The house had been ransacked and many items were missing, including her television and her 2007 red Chevy Impala with Nevada license plates.
Anthony Dion, also known as Dion Anthony, a 27-year-old black man from Colorado, was extradited to Los Angeles on Oct. 5, 2015, to stand trial for her death. His arraignment, originally scheduled for Oct. 8, was continued to Nov. 13 at the request of his attorney, Los Angeles County district attorney's office spokesman Ricardo Santiago said.

Ceaser Joe Mendoza, a 24-year-old Latino, was shot and killed by a Los Angeles County sheriff's deputy Saturday June 22, 2013, in the 15613 block of Loukelton Street in La Puente, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.
Deputy Chad Sessman and his partner saw a gray Nissan Altima going west on Loukelton Street about 9:45 p.m. The deputies illuminated the car with a spotlight and saw that the right front passenger was "slouched low" in the seat and wearing a blue baseball cap, according to a letter from the Justice System Integrity Division of the district attorney's office, which reviews each officer-involved shooting in the county.
